GENERAL MEMBERSHIP

The Children's Aid Society of the County of Bruce is a membership-based organization that reflects the diversity of people in its community. It is from this membership that the Society draws for leadership on the Board of Directors.

Membership to the Society is extended to any person residing in or conducting business in the County of Bruce:

a) who is an individual 18 years of age or over, or that is a corporation and has its head office or carries on business in the area served by the Society and

b) who notifies the Secretary of the Society in writing of his desire to become a member; and

c) who pays the annual membership dues which is presently $3.00 per year.

Any general member in good standing may vote at the Annual General Meetings of the Society and subject to Section 6.08 of the By-laws is eligible for election to the Board of Directors or other office of the Society.

BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The affairs of the Society are managed by a Board consisting of 13 Directors. Each Director is required to maintain membership in the Society during his/her term as Director.

No candidate for Director of the Society shall be an employee of the Society or a spouse or partner of an employee.

Meetings of the Board of Directors are held at the office of the Society located at 5 McGivern Street W. , Walkerton , Ontario . The Board holds 8 meetings per year of which one is the Annual General Meeting that is held in June.
